Tetouan – HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, may God assist Him, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, HH Prince Moulay Ahmed and HH Prince Moulay Ismaïl, performed the blessed Eid Al-Adha prayer at the Hassan II mosque in Tétouan on Thursday, Dhu al-Hijjah 10, 1444 A.H., corresponding to June 29, 2023.

Numerous citizens flocked along the route taken by the royal procession to share with HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, the joy of this blessed day, and to wish the Sovereign a happy feast and long life.

On His arrival at the mosque, the Sovereign reviewed a detachment of the Royal Guard who were performing the honors.

After the Eid prayer, the Imam preached on the profound significance of Eid Al-Adha, which crowns the first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah, during which Muslims strengthen their faith in God and give Him thanks for the many blessings He has bestowed on them.

This festival reflects the unity of the Ummah and embodies the values of solidarity, compassion and mutual aid that are the very essence of moderate Islam, noted the Imam, stressing that Eid Al Adha is an invitation to coexistence and tolerance within the framework of a society where peace, security and prosperity reign.

Emphasizing that the Almighty had graced the Kingdom of Morocco with the Institution of the Commandery of the Faithful, the Imam pointed out that HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, may God glorify Him, has never ceased to undertake structuring projects that have elevated the Kingdom among the Nations and made Morocco a model at regional and international levels, while ensuring the protection of religion and the exercise of worship.

The Imam concluded by imploring the Most High to preserve HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, to crown His actions with success for the good of His faithful people, and to fulfill Him in the persons of HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and all the members of the Illustrious Royal Family.

He also offered prayers for the repose of the souls of the late HM King Mohammed V and the late HM King Hassan II, may God accept them into His Holy Mercy.

HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, then proceeded to the ritual sacrifice, following the tradition of the Prophet Sidna Mohammed, peace and blessings be upon Him. The Imam of the mosque then proceeded to immolate the second sheep.

HM the King then returned to the Royal Palace to the cheers of many citizens who had come to reiterate their unwavering attachment to the Glorious Alawid Throne and to the august person of His Majesty the King. At the same time, cannon shots rang out on the occasion of this festive day.

At the Royal Palace, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, may God assist Him, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and HH Prince Moulay Ahmed, received greetings from the Head of Government, the Speakers of the two Houses of Parliament, and the President-Delegate of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary, First President of the Court of Cassation, the President of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the King’s Public Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation, the Dean of the Islamic Diplomatic Corps in Morocco, the Ambassador of Cameroon, the Presidents of the Constitutional Authorities, and several senior civil and military figures.
