With the unstinted care of the Commander of the Faithful, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, President of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema, May God Assist Him, to the Holy Qur’an, and in accordance with the recommendations of the Foundation’s Higher Council, held at its second session in Fez in 2018, a competition in the memorization and recitation of the Holy Qur’an is taking place on annual basis at the level of all the sections of the Foundation.

Following the success of the first and second editions of the competition, the Secretariat General of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema, in coordination with all its sections in African countries, organizes the elimination phases in order to select three candidates from each section of the Foundation to participate in the final of the competition in its third edition.

These eliminations will take place at the level of the Foundation’s thirty-four sections during the period between 10 and 17 Ramadan 1443 H, corresponding to 12 and 19 April 2022, on which one winner will be selected from each of the three following competition’s categories:

  • Entire memorization with recitation – Warsh An Naafe Riwayat ;
  • Entire memorization with recitation – A Riwayat chosen by the candidate (styles of Quranic recitation) ;
  • Quran psalmody with the memorization of at least five Ahzab

On this occasion, the Secretariat General of the Foundation calls upon all its sections to engage efficiently and effectively in order to take all appropriate measures to make these eliminations a success.

Through this competition, the Foundation seeks to link young people and African Muslim youth to the
Holy Quran, and encourage them to preserve it, memorize it and recite it.

The Foundation will allocate prizes and valuable gifts to the winners as a sign of encouragement and motivation.
