The Dimensions of Imarat Al Mouminine in the African Context

Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed Makkari, Member of the Fatwa Board of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs of Nigeria, affirmed that Imarat Al Mouminine has always made Morocco in the heart of African Muslims and their first reference, which is under its control in adversity and crisis. This came through his intervention during the third scientific communication session organized by the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema, under the title of: Imarat Al Mouminine and its place of referential in the preservation of common religious constants.
Dr. Makkari stated, that throughout history, the protection of Muslims was also a legitimate duty of the ruling Alawite sultans. Not only in Morocco, but also in Africa, where Imarat Al Mouminine contributed to the consolidation of the values of peace and coexistence, especially in West Africa where Sufi orders play a big role in spiritual security.
Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed also mentioned, in his speech about Imarat Al Mouminine throughout the history of Morocco, the interest of the Alaouite Dynasty in religion and Oulema who embraced throughout history, and their impact on the spread of the Maliki doctrine and the ancient schools in West Africa, noting the role of Amir Al Mouminine in following his ancestors in taking care of science, religion and Oulema which were reflected in the establishment of  the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema and the Institute of Mohammed VI for formation of imams, Morchidine and Morchidat.
